Damaris Cegielski from Guatemala is crowned Miss Latina Global 2015/16 and Francia Pena from Colombia is crowned Mrs. Latina Global 2015/16. 

Also Sabrina Castillo from Peru crowned Miss Teen Latina Global 2015/2016.

On Monday, December 28, 2015, Virgelia Productions Inc announced that an anxious crowd filled up the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Theatre on Sunday, November 22, night to see who would be crowned Miss Latina Global 2015/16. Celebrating its 4th anniversary as the premiere pageant for Latina women in the USA. Electricity filled the air as 20 beautiful, intelligent and talented Latina women proudly representing various countries dazzled the audience and judges with their amazing national costumes, their elegance in the evening gown competition and the sensational swimwear competition.

After four categories of intense competition, our distinguished panel of judges selected the 20 years old Damaris Cegielski representing Guatemala to be the 2015/16 title holder of Miss Latina Global. Damaris is currently studying in Pierce College pursuing her nursing degree. When she finally had a chance to catch her breath after the pageant, Damaris said, “Being crowned Miss Latina Global 2015 means so much to me because this incredible pageant represents so much that I believe in about unifying our various cultures. I am greatfully honored and I welcome the responsibility, I truly look forward to fulfilling my reign with all my heart and dedication.”

On the same evening another segment of the competition is Mrs. Latina Global. The beautiful Francia Pena who represented Colombia won the title of Mrs. Latina Global 2015/16 and representing Peru is Sabrina Castillo who won Miss Teen Latina Global 2015/2016.

Virgelia went on to say, “I am very pleased and proud of all of our wonderful delegates and I offer them my sincerest gratitude for their participation and hard work. Our 4th Anniversary was unforgettable, and we couldn’t have done it without them. HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Dec. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- On Saturday, November 21, 2015, an enthusiastic sellout crowd of over 1500 people witnessed two magnificent and unforgettable cultural pageants performed as one, the 27^th Annual Miss Asia USA and the 11^th Annual Mrs. Asia USA Cultural Pageants were presented together onstage at the beautiful Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center.

The show opened up with the delegates' impressive lavish parade of national costumes, followed by thunderous applause and raucous support for the delegates' dance presentation. The evening’s festivities were hosted by Santa Barbara channel 7 news anchor Tony Cabrera and co-hosts Miss Asia USA 2012 and Princeton University graduate Christine Kan.

Following months of painstaking preparation by each delegate, dreams turned into a wonderful reality on Saturday night with the crowning of six 2015/16 title holders. After three categories of intense competition in both pageants, our distinguished panel of judges selected Ashley Park representing South Korea is crowned Miss Asia USA 2015. A graduate of Arkansas University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Sang Lee, who represented South Korea, is crowned Mrs. Asia USA 2015/16. Teresa Tran, who represented Vietnam, is crowned Miss Teen Asia USA 2015/16. Also Du Chen is crowned Miss Asia USA - CA 2015/16 and Lidia Ivanova is crowned Miss Europe Global 2015/16.

Hollywood Hit Maker Releases CD To Benefit Special Needs Animals

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Nov. 17, 2015 - PRLog -- Stonedef Records announced that they are releasing a new album ‪this Friday, November 20, 2015 from the Billboard hit recording artist Fawn.

The album entitled, “Remnants” is an 11 song CD of original piano-based compositions written by the award-winning singer/songwriter and composer. Fifty percent of the proceeds ‪through December 31, 2015 will benefit The Pepper Foundation, a non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of senior and special needs dogs.

Fawn (aka ‘Songirl’) is recognized for her television, film, commercials, pop and dance songs, so this is a departure from her past musical endeavors. Latina Leaders Demand Apology from ABC for Derogatory Remarks about Rosie Perez

Press Release Received Via Email today:

New York, NY, January 20, 2015 – A group of high-powered Latinas from a wide range of professions – politicians, scholars, artists, business owners, activists, professors, authors – released an open letter to the producers of “The View” this morning demanding an apology to iconic actor Rosie Perez and all Latinas for derogatory comments made about Ms. Perez by one or more sources at the show.  New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, former New York Secretary of State Lorraine Cortes-Vazquez, best-selling author Esmeralda Santiago, and award-winning playwright Josefina Lopez are among the signatories.

The group’s outrage stems from recent comments issued to the press saying that Ms. Perez “is not the sharpest tool in the box” and “can’t read a TelePrompTer.”  “Questioning a woman’s intelligence is an old stereotype that is sexist and in this case, also racist,” the letter states.  It goes on to say, “When you disparage the only Latina on “The View” you disparage all Latinas.”

The letter is signed #yosoyrosie, launching a viral campaign to collect comments from others on this “hot topic.”

Open letter to the Executive Producers of “The View”

We are outraged that in the past few weeks a source from “The View” has been dispensing derogatory information to the press about Rosie Perez, first telling a NY Daily News reporter that Ms. Perez “is not the sharpest tool in the box” and most recently, being quoted in the industry outlet, Variety, saying that Ms. Perez “can’t read a TelePrompTer.”

It doesn’t take a genius to read into the racist and sexist language hurled against Ms. Perez. Questioning a woman’s intelligence is an old stereotype that is sexist and in this case, also racist. The stereotype that Latinas are stupid is outrageous. There is no excuse for this behavior. Network officials should not tolerate this kind of racist conduct.

The fact that the leaks come from one of your staffers is deeply offensive. Implicit in the insider comments is that Ms. Perez is unintelligent and illiterate. Ms. Perez is a beloved community icon, an acclaimed author, director, a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV& AIDS, an Academy Award nominated actor, a Broadway stage actor, and a dedicated activist. Those close to her know her as a compassionate and generous woman—yet this cowardly insider has maliciously smeared her anonymously.

When ABC announced that it had named Ms. Perez to co-host “The View,” the Latino and Latina community was proud and enthusiastic with the choice. Though it took show executives eighteen years to cast permanent Latina representation on the show, as Latinos and Latinas, we were delighted that finally someone of such caliber was chosen. That the network named an award-winning entertainer with an impressive history of activism in education, the arts, and Latino causes, was even more impressive. In naming Ms. Perez as a co-host, ABC chose an intelligent, committed, and esteemed Latina role model. People magazine's critic Tom Gliatto acknowledged Ms. Perez as the “best thing about the new View” and a “keeper.” The fact that in less than four months someone from your staff and network is slandering her is not only outrageous but, unacceptable.

We are furthermore disappointed that industry leader, Variety, chose to go with a story quoting an anonymous insider and failed to give Ms. Perez and her management an opportunity to respond. This is shoddy journalism at its best. Your bland statement in response to Variety’s article that Rosie Perez’ “status with the show has not changed,” added insult to injury.

Ms. Perez, Latinas and the entire Latino community merits respect, not insults. We expect more from the staff of “The View” and ABC network.

When you disparage the only Latina on “The View” you disparage all Latinas. Rosie Perez and by extension, all Latinas, deserve an immediate apology.
